Current Research Topics

My research interests centre around experimental phonetics and laboratory phonology. Normally, I work on topics within the boundaries of sociolinguistics, etnolinguistics and psycholinguistics. More specific areas of interest are:

Lenition, elision and recovery of Spanish spirant approximant consonants and their link to lexical effects and lexical access.
Sociolinguistic variation of Chilean Spanish phonetic and phonemic systems.
Using experimental methods and quantitative statistics to address problems of the phonetic and phonemic domains of Chilean native languages.
The phonetics and phonology of Kawésqar, a language isolate spoken in far south Chile (Patagonia).
